Losing calcium from your teeth is a process called decalcification. If decalcification is not treated, the affected areas will develop cavities and tooth decay. An accumulation of plaque, which can be caused by failing to properly clean the teeth, leads to decalcification. People with braces often have trouble cleaning their teeth properly and notice spots of decalcification when the braces are taken off. Work with your dentist to reverse decalcification before the process has progressed too far.
Instructions
1. See your dentist as soon as you notice any possible signs of decalcification. Initial signs of decalcification are very white, opaque spots on your teeth. According to the Cosmetic Dentistry Center, if the process has progressed to darker stains, it is no longer reversible.
2. Have your dentist perform a cleaning. The Cosmetic Dentistry Center recommends professional teeth cleaning every three months to reverse decalcification.

Medicaid is a federal health care plan, administered by the states, which provides medical coverage for low-income and disabled Americans and long-term care for the elderly. In Oklahoma, the Medicaid program is known as SoonerCare. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority establishes Medicaid rates in the state, while the Department of Human Services takes applications and determines who qualifies for medical health care assistance.
Basic Qualifications
Those considered for Medicaid must be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident who has legal alien status. The person requesting Medicaid assistance must also be a resident of Oklahoma. The applicant must have a valid Social Security number.
Eligibility Categories
SoonerCare provides medical assistance to certain children under the age of 19, pregnant women, the elderly--age 65 and older, families with children under the age of 18, and the disabled.
Individuals are considered categorically needy if their income and resources are at or below levels established for the type of assistance for which they qualify. Individuals are medically needy if their income and resources exceed established levels, but are not sufficient to meet the cost of medical care.
Adults with children under the age of 18 who receive assistance from the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program are automatically eligible; others may be eligible if they meet income and resource guidelines, according to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
The blind and other people who have a physical or mental impairment or disease that appears reasonably certain to continue at least 12 months and substantially impairs their ability to perform labor or services or to engage in a useful occupation are eligible if they meet income and resource guidelines, according to the department.
Children under 19 and pregnant women who meet income levels are eligible. The medical assistance for pregnant women must be related to their pregnancy.
Elderly people, 65 and older, who meet income and resource guidelines are eligible, even those who receive Medicare, provided their aid, income and resources do not meet the cost of medical needs.
Income Rules
A qualified applicant's income and, in some cases, financial resources must be less than the amounts specified by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. For example, the maximum income for pregnant women and people under the age of 19 is $1,670. If there are two people in the family, the income level rises to $2,247 For a family of 3, it's $2,823; for four, $3,400; for five, $3,976, for six, $4,553; for seven $5,130; and for eight, $5,706. Another $577 is added to income level for each additional family member.
When determining financial resources for Medicaid eligibility, certain items are excluded. These include the value of a home (real or personal property) used as the primary residence; furnishings; and the value of one vehicle, if its current market value does not exceed $4,500. Resources are checked monthly to make sure they fall within the guidelines.

Bruised ribs is a term that refers to an injury in the muscles around the ribs rather than an injury to the actual ribs themselves. Bruised ribs are severely painful, but they can heal on their own as long as you see a doctor first. Your doctor will determine whether your ribs are bruised, cracked or broken. Instructions
1. See a doctor. Before attempting to heal your bruised ribs on your own, go to the doctor to determine whether or not your ribs really are bruised. If your ribs are cracked or broken, your doctor will probably give you special instructions on sleep and breathe properly. If you have bruised ribs as opposed to broken ribs, your healing time may be cut in half.
2. Take warm baths. The muscles surrounding your ribs will be very tender and sore to the touch for several weeks. One way to loosen these muscles is to take warm (but not scalding) baths for 10 to 20 minutes. If you experience any muscle swelling, follow the warm bath with a cold compress or cold towel over the affected areas for 15 minutes.
3. Rub Tiger Balm or another heating muscle cream on the chest and rib area before bed. The muscle cream will allow the muscles around your ribs to relax, keeping the lungs open and unrestricted.
4. If you are feeling tightness in your lungs, breathe in hot steam. Fill your sink with hot water and place a towel over your head to contain the steam. Breathe in deeply and slowly, allowing the steam to loosen your lungs and muscles. You can use the steam method if you have trouble breathing during the night.
5. Alternate acetaminophen and ibuprofen every four hours or as needed. Take these over-the-counter medications with a full glass of water and a full stomach. If your doctor prescribes an additional medication, ask if you may take over-the-counter medications in conjunction with your prescribed dose.

Midlife hormonal changes may leave men feeling adrift in their careers or in relationships.
A midlife crisis is a time of life transition. The transition is termed a "crisis" in popular culture because symptoms of the transition can reveal themselves as abrupt changes. In men, a midlife crisis stereotypically manifests itself with a flashy car, a radical change in career or a younger girlfriend. However, less conspicuous signs include loss of libido, disrupted sleep, emotional change and shifts in physical appearance.
Loss of Libido
Midlife hormonal changes can begin between age 30 and 50. Loss of libido, including inability to obtain or hold an erection, may accompany declining testosterone levels in men. Though such hormonal changes may be natural, men who notice a decreased sex drive can consult a physician for hormonal replacement therapy to address loss of testosterone levels.

If you suffer from the condition laughingly referred to as "man breasts," you can improve your muscle tone with exercise. You won't have to spend months in a gym to re-buff your appearance--just a few simple exercises every day will help to strengthen your chest muscles and eliminate the flab that gives you that embarrassing cleavage.
Push-ups
One of the best ways to improve the tone in your chest muscles is to do a series of push-ups every day. Lie on the ground face-down and use your forearms to push up into a plow position, keeping your back straight and your toes on the floor as support. Do the push-up slowly and hold your position for a few seconds before lowering yourself back to just above the ground. Push up again without ever allowing your body to lower completely to the ground. Do this as many times as you are able, rest for a few minutes, then start another set of repetitions. When you feel that you are straining or your arm muscles are too tired, stop. Repeat the push-ups throughout the day whenever you feel up to it. If you suffer from lower back problems, try doing the push-ups from your knees, being careful to keep your knees together as you lift.
Bench Press
If you have access to a bench press, choose weights that you can lift easily, and lie on your back as you press the bar upward slowly before lowering it back to your chest. Do six to eight reps several times a day to improve your chest muscle tone and strengthen your upper arms.
If you do not have access to a bench press, lie on your back and lift free weights six to eight times in a row, or find something that you are able to lift that has an even distribution of weight and is just heavy enough to build the muscles but not heavy enough to strain your arms or back.
Free Weights
Using weights that you can lift easily, do a series of curl repetitions, starting with the weights held in front of your body at chest height, and slowly raising the weights until they are just beneath your chin. After you hold the weights under your chin for three seconds, slowly lower them back to the level of your chest. Repeat this exercise five or six times several times a day to see quick improvement in your chest tone.
Walking
Because "man breasts" are caused by excess fat in the chest area, any type of aerobic or cardio workout will help to improve the condition and reduce the amount of fat stored in your body. Walking briskly for 20 to 40 minutes a day on a treadmill or around the neighborhood will help you to lose excess fat and improve your overall muscle tone. It also will increase your overall stamina and make it easier for you to accomplish other types of exercise.

The tape should be straight across the back, resting lightly on the fullest part of the bust or chest.
2. Move down to the waist, once again making sure that the tape is straight across the back. Breathe out to get the most reliable reading, making sure to not pull the tape. For women, a Large waist measures 30 to 32 inches; a man will measure 33 to 34 inches.
3. Measure the hips next, winding the tape around the fullest part of the buttocks and hip curve. Stand with the legs together and relaxed. For a Large, a woman's hip should fall between 38 and 40 inches. Men's pants fall close to a straight line from the waist, so use the waist reading for pants.
4. Shop for Large gloves by measuring the length of the middle finger down to the back of the wrist. For women, a 7.5 length is classified as Large; for men, 8.5 to 9 is Large. However, men's gloves are rounded up in size, so purchase a 9 or 10.

Sonographers, also known as ultrasound technologists, are the medical professionals who operate the equipment which generates these images. Individuals with no prior health care experience are advised to enroll in an associate or bachelor's degree program. Courses

Types of Specializations
Radiologic technologists may specialize in the area of fluoroscopy, computed technology (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or mammography technology. Fluoroscopy involves the preparation of a solution which a patient must drink. The radiologic technologist then uses digital imaging equipment to analyze the resulting radiograph of the body's soft tissues. CT technologists use computed tomography (CT), or CT scans, to create layers of cross-sectional x-rays of a specific anatomical area, resulting in the creation of a three dimensional image. MRI technologists use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a form of non-ionizing radiation produced by magnets to create images. Mammographers produce images of the breast using low dose x-rays.
State Certification
To practice in the state of California, radiologic technologists must have a certificate or permit which is issued upon successful completion of an approved educational program approved by the California Department of Public Health's Radiological Health Branch (RHB). They also must pass the California state exam for diagnostic or therapeutic radiologic technology certification or the national examination for therapeutic radiologic technology certification. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) offers both examinations, while the California Department of Public Health offers the state exam only. Technologists who pass either exam are considered qualified to perform x-rays on any part of the body.

Cysts are pouches of tissue that can form anywhere on the body, including inside organs such as the lungs. They can be filled with many different substances and can be caused by infected or clogged glands.
Galactoceles
A galactocele is a cyst that has formed because a mammary gland has become clogged. Mammary glands are found in the breast. They are connected to the nipple and supply the milk used in breast feeding. Galactoceles differ from cysts in that they are filled with a thick milk.
Causes
Galactoceles can occur at any time during lactation, as any blockage to the mammary glands when they are producing milk can cause one. However, the most likely time to develop galactoceles is just after breast feeding has ended, when milk is allowed to sit in the glands and stagnate.
Treatment
Galactoceles can be easily lanced with a needle and drained of fluid. However, if the galactocele becomes infected, it may require surgical removal.
Considerations

According to the National Cancer Institute, the treatment for breast cancer usually involves surgery. A mastectomy is surgical removal of the breast. There are a few different types of mastectomies including simple, modified radial mastectomy and radial mastectomy. The type of mastectomy recommended depends on the size of the tumor in the breast.
Facts
Each type of mastectomy involves removal of the breast. However, in a simple mastectomy, muscle and lymph nodes under the arm are not removed. A modified radial mastectomy is removal of the breast and some of the lymph nodes under the arm. Lining over the muscles of the chest wall may also be removed but not the muscle. It is different from a radial mastectomy, in which the breast, lymph nodes and muscles of the chest wall under the breast are removed.
Indications
A modified radial mastectomy may be recommended in breast cancer cases where the tumors are too large to do a lumpectomy. Since the muscles of the chest wall are spared, it is less disfiguring. According to the American Cancer Society, it is the most common type of mastectomy performed. The procedure may be done in one or both breasts depending on the type of breast cancer and stage of the disease.
Procedure
The procedure requires general anesthesia. An incision is made to separate the breast tissue from the skin and the chest wall muscles underneath the breast. The breast is removed and the skin is stitched together. Lymph nodes under the arm will also be removed. Tubes that drain fluid will be placed under the skin where the breast was removed. Some women may choose to have reconstructive surgery immediately after the mastectomy. Reconstructive surgery to rebuild the breast may need to be completed in stages.
Risks
According to the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, there are some risks associated with a modified radial mastectomy. Damage to the nerves under the arm, which can cause numbness, is a possibility. Because the lymph nodes are removed and normal lymph drainage is impaired, swelling may occur in the arm. This condition is known as lymphedema and can occur even years after surgery. Other risks include excess bleeding and infection. Signs of infection include, fever, redness around the incision and severe pain.
Recovery
Most patients who have uncomplicated surgery are released from the hospital in a day or two. The tubes will remain in place for about a week and removed by the physician at a follow-up visit. Pain medication will be prescribed. Physical activities involving lifting will be restricted while the incision heals. Addition treatment to for breast cancer, such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy may be started. Although all women handle the loss of a breast differently, talking about your feelings with a healthcare professional or joining a support group may help you deal with emotional issues.
