The state of Massachusetts is home to numerous public and private colleges that offer programs in radiography. These schools prepare individuals for careers as radiologic technologist in hospitals, outpatient clinics and private medical practices. Many of these programs also feature accreditation by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (AART), which is a prerequisite for receiving a license to work as a radiologic technologist in the state of Massachusetts.
Middlesex Community College
Established in 1970, Middlesex Community College is a public two-year institution with locations in Bedford and Lowell. Enrollment at the school is over 8,500 students with an average class size of only 15. Approved by the ARRT, the college offers an associate's degree in radiologic technology. The program offers only full-time, daylight courses. For the 2009-10 school year, the cost of tuition was $150 per credit for Massachusetts residents, $162 per credit for New England residents and $356 per credit for all other students.

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
A private, not-for-profit institution, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was founded in 1823. Its location in Worcester is home to over 2,700 undergraduate students. The School of Radiologic Technology at the university offers AART-approved bachelor's of science degrees in radiography, magnetic resonance imaging and radiation therapy as well as a certificate in computerized tomography. Additionally, the school grants a master's degree for radiologic assistants. For the 2009-10 school year, the cost of one year's tuition at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was $24,550.

Springfield Technical Community College
The Springfield Technical Community College is located at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site in Springfield, Massachusetts. The public, two-year institution has an enrollment of over 6,000 students with an average class size of 25. The ARRT-approved radiography program at Springfield Technical Community College requires four semesters of study as well as a summer clinical program that provides hands-on training in the field. Graduates receive an associate's degree in the field. During the 2009-10 school year, the cost per credit to attend Springfield Technical Community College was $25 for Massachusetts residents, $37.50 for New England residents and $242 for out-of-state students.

Medford College
Bunker Hill Community College has several locations throughout Boston with its main campus in the neighborhood of Charlestown. The school is home to over 8,000 students and is a public, two-year institution. The ARRT-approved medical radiography at the school requires 21 months of full-time study to complete. For a full-time course of study, the cost for one year of tuition is $2,400 for in-state students and $7,344 for those from outside the state.
