What Is Digital Signage Video

Digital video can be shown on a variety of mediums

Digital video signage can be displayed on computer monitors, cell phone screens, PDAs, and even jumbotrons such as ones seen at sporting events and in major consumer centers like Times Square.

Analog Signage vs. Digital

Analog video signage employs a stream of images moving so quickly that they appear to represent movement. Digital video signage converts the data from all images into ones and zeros, enabling much greater compression of data, and therefore longer, higher quality ads and messages.

Function

Monitors must be connected to the main computer which holds the digital video to be used in the signage. If there are multiple signs to be displayed on multiple monitors, an individual computer will need to be dedicated for each monitor.

Types

A variety of digital software for video signage are available. From commonly used software such as Powerpoint to specialized digital video software such as EnQii or Navori, there is no shortage to available options.
