Features
New employees are usually required to take a 12-hour training session on airport security and equipment operation, followed by 56 to 72 hours of classroom learning. During this time, they will study security law, emergency preparedness, domestic and international terrorism and security assessment and prevention.
Time Frame
Once employees are certified, they will usually go through up to 128 hours of on-the-job training under the scrutiny of their manager, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
