Look For Lowcost Health & Dental Insurance

Affordable health and dental insurance will save you considerable money on medical costs.

Low-cost health and dental insurance can help you cover your medical and dental needs. With the rising cost of health care and insurance premiums, affordable insurance can be more difficult to find, but it is available. It is important to explore all of your options before choosing a policy. The policy you choose should have adequate coverage, even if the premium is higher than you initially want to pay.

Instructions

1. Check to see if you qualify for health and dental insurance through your work. Often these policies are less expensive than individual plans, because they are group health plans. This is especially true if you have a pre-existing condition, which can cause the cost of health insurance to go up significantly.

2. Ask an independent insurance agent to look for several insurance policies for you to choose from. The insurance agent can compare different plans and explain your out-of-pocket costs.

3. Look online for health and dental insurance policies available in your area. Healthcare.gov is a starting point to compare the costs and benefits of each plan. If you do shop online, be sure you are dealing with a well-known, reliable company when purchasing the insurance.

4. Compare the plans by looking at your deductible, monthly premiums and co-payments for doctor's visits. A higher deductible usually means a lower monthly premium, but you will need to set aside the money for the deductible in case you become ill.

5. Apply for the plan with the lowest annual premium and out-of-pocket costs, in total.
