Conceal Mini Cameras

Spy or mini cameras can generally fit in the palm of your hand, making them smaller than digital camcorders. These small cameras come in a variety of models, with many different features. Some have wireless transmitters so that they can record in real time onto a receiver. Still others allow you to record based on a schedule, at the click of a button, or at the detection of motion. Despite these many differences, however, mini cameras can be concealed in similar ways so long as they have access to power and a clear line of sight for the lens.

Instructions

1. Decide where you wish to conceal your camera, like in bushes, behind shelves, in a purse, or elsewhere. If your mini camera needs to be plugged into an external power source to work, find a hiding spot that conceals a cord to an outlet as well.

2. Place your mini camera in your hiding spot and stand away from it to see whether it is visible. Try noticing the camera lens from different parts of the area around the concealed spot. Move the camera if you can see it in its hiding place.

3. Turn on the camera and press the record button. Stand away from the concealed spot and walk around. Return to the camera and stop the recording. Review the recorded footage to check that you like the camera's view. For example, if you've placed the camera behind some books in a book shelf, check that the books do not impede the camera's view and that the view is wide enough to catch a worthwhile area of the room the shelf is in.

4. Set the camera's timing or motion detection features if it has these and plug the camera into a wall outlet if it does not have its own internal, rechargeable battery. Run the power cord behind shelves, bushes, or other obstructions to prevent anyone from seeing the cord. If you wish the camera to record directly to a receiver, such as a VCR and TV, plug the white, yellow, and black cable into the receiver and run it in the same fashion you did the power cord.
