What Are The Causes Of Fatigue & Nausea

Pregnancy is not the only cause of simultaneous fatigue and nausea.

If you have been feeling both fatigued and nauseated then you might be wondering what is going on inside your body. Many women experience these symptoms when they are pregnant, but there other reasons besides pregnancy that can cause fatigue and nausea.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is the obvious reason why one might feel fatigued and nauseous. As the body adapts to the growing life inside, it goes through many changes in the first trimester, two of which are fatigue and nausea.

Achrestic Anemia

Achrestic anemia is another cause of fatigue and nausea and is similar to the anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, though it does not respond to that vitamin and progresses slowly.

Medication

The side effects of medication can include nausea and fatigue. If you have started a new medication, read the list of potential side effects. It is not uncommon for nausea and fatigue to be among those listed.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy side effects include nausea and fatigue, and cancer itself can cause those two effects before, during and after the treatments.

Multiple Myeloma

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells and is a rare condition with a low survival rate. Its side effects include nausea and fatigue, and doctors are still unsure how it starts.
