Decorate A Breast Cancer Event

Breast cancer events span the range from formal fundraising dinners to relaxed bake sales or silent auctions. A great deal of planning goes into a successful breast cancer event, whether the goal is to raise money for research or simply raise awareness about the disease. Decorations that fit the event help create the atmosphere at the breast cancer event. Consider the budget and the surroundings when planning the decorations.

Instructions

1. Identify the type and formality of the breast cancer event. Coordinate the decorations to match the formality level. An elegant dinner needs matching decorations including formal centerpieces and table settings. An informal event may only need a few decorations to draw attention and tie in the theme of the event.

2. Determine if the event has an underlying theme in addition to the breast cancer cause. Use this theme to organize the decorations if it lends itself well to the process. For example, a bake sale might include pink spatulas or other kitchen items for the decorations.

3. Choose a color scheme for the event. Incorporate the pink ribbon that is often used for breast cancer awareness if it fits the event.

4. Establish a design for the table decorations. Consider a bouquet of pink flowers tied with ribbons, a serving tray with pink ribbon cookies or a photo collage of breast cancer survivors as a centerpiece. Choose the most appropriate table covering and place settings based on the type of event.

5. Add general room decorations that relate to the breast cancer cause. Consider the venue to determine the best type of decorations. Ideas include large cardboard replicas of the breast cancer awareness ribbon, enlarged photographs of breast cancer survivors or informational posters.
