Study radiography at a school in Florida
Radiography refers to the production of x-ray images of parts of the body for the purpose of diagnosing and subsequently treating medical conditions and physical injuries. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook issued by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of radiographers and radiologic technologists will rise by 17 percent through until 2018. Several schools in the state of Florida offer training programs in radiography.
St. Johns River Community College
St. Johns River Community College offers an associate in science degree in radiologic technology at its St. Augustine campus. This program can be completed within two years of full-time study. Students complete a series of general education courses, which are followed by specialized coursework in radiologic technology and procedures. Practical clinical training is received at regional hospitals and medical centers.

St. Petersburg College offers an associate in science degree in radiography that may be transferred to a bachelor’s degree in health services administration. The State College of Florida at Manatee-Sarasota offers both an associate in science and an associate in applied science in radiography. Students must complete prerequisite coursework in anatomy, physiology and algebra with a grade of at least "C," before proceeding to specialized courses in radiologic technology, radiation safety and patient protection, procedures, image analysis, and practical hands-on training.

Miami Dade College offers a two-year associate in applied science degree in radiography. Students complete general education courses in English, anatomy and physiology, algebra, psychology, and communication, in addition to major coursework in radiologic physics, radiographic positioning and techniques, and radiation biology.
