Renew My Veterinary Technician License

Veterinarian techs assist with the care of animals.

Veterinarian technicians, or "vet techs," assist veterinarians in the care of animals, much like a nurse assists a doctor. As a veterinarian tech, you must keep your license current under the state laws where you hold your license. The renewal dates differ for each state, generally running every one to three years. Most states require that you complete a minimum number of continuing education hours in order to qualify for license renewal. Identify your state's licensing requirements, which can be found online, to make sure you are eligible for renewal. Confirm your eligibility before attempting to renew online.

Instructions

1. Log on to the Internet and search for your state's Board of Veterinary Medicine website.

2. Follow the website's link to license renewal.

3. Complete the online renewal form, including continuing education proof if your state requires it.

4. Pay the renewal fee with your credit or debit card.

5. Print out a copy of your renewal confirmation and receipt.
