Starting Salaries


In July 2009, diagnostic radiologists who worked in the field for less than four years earned $71,927 to $253,766.


Experienced Salaries


Diagnostic radiologists who worked for five or more years in the field averaged salaries of $75,418 to $334,181 in July 2009.


Highest-Paying Employers


In July 2009, diagnostic radiologists employed by companies earned the highest salaries at a range of $99,606 to $330,372. Those working in private practices earned the second-highest rates and also had one of the highest starting salaries at $170,000 to $304,882.


Lowest-Paying Employers


In July 2009, the lowest-paying employers of diagnostic radiologists were state and local governments with rates of $63,871 to $101,736. Hospitals featured the second-lowest starting salaries at $76,645.
