The Dunwoody Cancer Center is a branch of the Northside Hospital located in Atlanta, Georgia. This cancer center is one of the only ones in the area that features a dual energy linear accelerator. This machine allows for radiation to be delivered to a cancerous region through an external beam. Currently, the Dunwoody Cancer Center offers brachytherapy programs as well as treatment planning for its cancer patients. This is also the only cancer center in the city of Atlanta to offer multiple types of bone marrow transplant procedures. Bone marrow transplant procedures allow for healthy cells to replace those that have been destroyed by chemotherapy, radiation and disease. Dunwoody Cancer Center offers cord blood transplants, autologous stem cell transfers and haploidentical stem cell transfers. Breast cancer, cervical cancer and prostate cancer are the main specialties at Dunwoody Cancer Center. Patients will also have the option of many available clinical trials through this cancer center. Clinical trials allow patients to test new and advancing cancer treatment options such as alternative therapy and medications.

Georgia Cancer Specialists have offices in the Atlanta Medical Center.
Georgia Cancer Specialists offer more than 30 offices throughout the state. One of their main offices is located at the Atlanta Medical Center. Georgia Cancer Specialists is one of the largest groups of private hematology and oncology specialists. They are currently a national leader in advanced cancer treatment and research. Part of their research allows cancer patients to participate in phase one clinical trials. This is the second phase of a clinical trial, the first in which the therapy or medication is tested on humans. Georgia Cancer Specialists are the only team of doctors to offer phase one clinical trials. The cancer center offers a variety of support services for their patients including pain management, nutritional counseling and wellness counseling.

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University
The Winship Cancer Institute offers a few centers for cancer patients.
Emory University is a branch of Emory Hospital, one of the top teaching hospitals in the state of Georgia. The Winship Cancer Institute offers several separate centers for their cancer patients including a prostate cancer center, center for pain management and breast health center. This hospital is one of the few that offers surgical oncology options. These options include oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery and skin-sparing mastectomies. Both options allow for the collaboration of traditional breast surgery techniques to be paired with plastic surgery so that cancer removal and breast reconstruction can occur in one surgery. The Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University was also the first to be designated a premier cancer center by the National Cancer Institute.
