Instructions
1. Set up your formula. Write "c / (c+d)," where "c" stands for the exact amount of false positive results in a study, and "d" represents the total absences of an outcome in the study.
2. Add up "c+d," the number of false positives, plus the number of absences of an outcome.
3. Divide the number of false positives, or "c," by the number you got from adding up "c+d." This number is the rate of false positives for the study.
