Craft give-aways are a great option for attracting visitors.
When creating a booth or display area at events such as fairs, trade shows and craft shows, it's important to make sure your area stands out. The basic keys to attracting visitors and keeping them there are pretty simple. People like free items, money and hands-on activities. If you keep these three tips in mind and find a way to apply them to your booth, you're bound to be pleased with the increase in visitors/customers.
Money Blowing Machine
What attracts people better than money? A money blowing machine is sure to grab people's attention and can be rented from vendors. All it takes is $20 in ones and a handful of vouchers or coupons for your product and people will flock to your display. The easiest way to handle the crowd is to put names in a drawing for a 20-second time slot in the money machine. If you don't have the resources to rent or build a money machine, you can rope off an area of the floor (you can use your display area), put down money, put socks or mittens on the hands of and blindfold your participants, and give them an allotted time to grab as much money and as many goods as they can. This will also attract many onlookers, giving you a chance to present your product to the masses.
Customized Prize Wheel
Everyone becomes a kid when it comes to prizes. Create or rent a customized prize wheel, and have visitors spin the wheel to receive prizes. Items such as pencils, sticky pads with the company logo, hats, bags and t-shirts can be given away. You can even give away a final grand prize at the end of the show. Be as creative as you can.
Kid-Friendly Options
Attract the attention of small children to gain the attention of adults. Offer items such as paper hats, mini bottles of bubbles, balloons and candy. Offer coupons and vouchers to the guardians, and, if you're offering candy, don't forget to have sugar free options on hand as well. The parents of kids with sugar sensitivities will appreciate the fact that you took the time to think about their kids as well.
Interaction
Interaction with your visitors is important, whether it's as simple as you chatting with them for awhile or having activities your visitors can participate in. At a craft show, for instance, you could have your booth set up with a specific crafting table to allow visitors to sample your product and create a design of their own. People enjoy having something to take home with them and this gives you the perfect opportunity to include a business card in the free craft packet.
