You must measure for your new bra size after a lumpectomy.
When health problems arise and you find out that you might have breast cancer, you may think that life will never get back to normal. If you have to have a lumpectomy, part of the process of getting your life back into a routine will be to measure yourself for new bras. It is essential for your breast maintenance and health that you get the right-size bras after a lumpectomy. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Measure your chest by wrapping the measuring tape around your torso, directly under your breasts. The measuring tape should form a straight line across your back. Hold the measuring tape tight, but not so tight that it is cutting into your back. This measurement will be your bra band size.
2. Measure the larger of your two breasts. Place the end of the tape measure between your breasts and wrap it over the larger of your two breasts until the tape measure is halfway around your back. Stop when you get to the spine. Asking a friend to assist you will make it easier.
3. Multiply the measurement from Step 2 by two. This is your cup size measurement. Enter these measurements into a bra size calculator (see Resources) to determine the best-fitting bra size for your body.
