Xray Technician Programs In Georgia

Many of Georgia's technical colleges offer programs for x-ray technicians.

X-ray technicians generally complete programs in radiologic technology or radiography before sitting for the certification examination. Students can complete a certificate, diploma or degree program. In Georgia, such programs are offered through the Technical College System of Georgia, though one University System school and through two private colleges.

Technical College Degree Programs

Several schools within the Technical College System of Georgia offer an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in radiologic technology. Students pursuing a degree must first complete general education courses in humanities, math and natural sciences, social or behavioral sciences. Additional required courses include anatomy, public speaking, introduction to healthcare, medical terminology, introduction to computers and nearly 20 courses specific to radiology. Students attending a Georgia technical college may be eligible for the HOPE scholarship.
