A great looking booth gets people's attention.
Trade shows and exhibitions are a major part of doing business for many companies. Attendance fees vary with the type of show and amount of booth space you book. Participating in such an event is one of the best ways for a business to present itself to the public. It represents a direct invitation for consumers to become familiar with your products, prices and marketing material. The success of your booth is measured by the level of interest you get from potential buyers, so do your homework and preparation to attract patrons to your booth.
Instructions
1. Plan several months ahead of the trade show or exhibition. Set your advertising budget for the event. Create exciting advertisement material that give people a reason to attend the event. Include information on when and where you will be at the show, about your new products and any special sales offerings Select local publications and media outlets that offer affordable ad space and that target your audience.
List the information on free listing services, bulletin boards, in newsletters and send it out to your client mailing list.
Feature the event on your website and make sure that you are listed in the program guide of the trade show or exhibition.
2. Sketch your ideas for booth design on paper. Draw several configurations you may want to try. Find a way to set up the complete booth before the show if you are unsure of how it will look. Put yourself in the position of a buyer coming into your booth. Design your booth to make it easy to enter and exit without knocking over your displays. Check that everything is structurally stable, freshly painted and washed. Determine how you will be displaying your product and ensure that your signage is the best that it can be.
3. Set up the booth completely before the event begins. Tape down carpeting to prevent people from tripping. Use tape to secure electrical lighting cords and power bars and hide them from view. Place your products at eye level for easy viewing. Step outside your booth to examine how others will see it. Make sure your sign is prominently displayed and that all your lights are in working order. Dress well for the event as first impressions are everything. Have lots of business cards available, smile and engage with potential buyers to ensure good sales.
