Radiology technicians and technologists are trained to perform a variety of medical imaging procedures; some of these procedures include x-rays, mammography and computed tomography (CT). Radiologic technology programs prepare students for entry into the field of radiography and for the national examination for certification as a radiographer.
Ogeechee Technical College
Ogeechee Technical College offers a Radiologic Technology diploma program that typically takes eight quarters to complete. Students are able to enter into the program in the fall semester of each year and will study courses such as Health Care, Radiography and Anatomy and Physiology as well as other courses such as Contrast and Cranium Procedures, Radiographic Imaging Equipment and Radiologic Science. The program is affiliated with 11 clinical sites where students will complete the clinical portion of the program. The clinical sites are located in Bulloch, Chatham, Candler, Evans, Liberty, Jefferson, Screven and Emanuel.

West Georgia Technical College
West Georgia Technical College has a program in which students obtain an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology. Students will take courses such as an Introduction to Radiologic Technology, Principles of Radiographic Exposure and Contrast Procedures as well as Cranium Procedures, Radiographic Imaging Procedures and Radiographic Pathology and Medical Terminology. Students will also be required to participate in clinical assignments in order to give students experience in a variety of clinical settings. Students who complete this program will be able to take the certification exam for radiographers.

Lanier Technical College
Lanier Technical College offers a program so students can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology; this program allows 17 students to be accepted into the program each year for fall entry. The program takes 11 quarters to complete and consists of courses such as an Introduction to Health Care and Introduction to Radiography and Radiologic Science as well as Principle of Radiation Biology, Contrast and Cranium Procedures and Upper and Lower Extremities. Students who successfully complete this program will be able to sit for the national exam for radiographers.
