Using Carriages
Lots of little girls dream about being a princess on their wedding day, and Cinderella is one of the most well-known princesses who got married to her prince. If you really want to feel like a princess, you can theme your wedding around Cinderella, including elements of the carriage in your invitations, decor and wedding cake. You'll need a large ball gown, beautiful shoes and a tiara to pull off the look.
Invitations
You can include a picture of a carriage on your wedding invitations regardless of how casual or formal your wedding will be. The invitation is the first glimpse that a guest gets when it comes to your wedding day, so you want to make sure that it displays your theme. Use your color scheme with the invitations. For instance, if you're having a white, black and silver theme, you might want to have white invitations with black calligraphy and a silver carriage. Contact your local stationery company or find one online, and ask if it can include this detail on your invitations. You can also make them yourself by using a carriage stamp and embossing powder or ink.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is going to be one of the biggest things displayed at your wedding, and Cinderella would have it no other way than to have at least a three-tiered cake decorated with lush ribbons. Place a silver or white princess carriage with or without horses on the top of your wedding cake as a cake topper to make it stand out.
Transportation
Another big element of weddings is the transportation. Some couples arrive in limos, vintage cars or buses, but a Cinderella-themed wedding calls for a beautiful carriage pulled by horses. If you're having an outdoor wedding, arrange for the carriage to bring you to the ceremony. If you're having an indoor wedding ceremony, the guests won't see you arrive, so take the carriage from the ceremony to the reception with your groom. You can decorate the carriage with flowers or white Christmas lights if you're getting married in the evening.
Decorations
For your centerpieces, consider using large Cinderella-type carriages. You can surround it with candles and floral arrangements, but the carriage will still be the star of the show. You can also use mini carriages for the escort or place cards by simply attaching a piece of card stock with each guest's name to the carriage with a beautiful ribbon.
