Optifast is an 18-week weight loss program for individuals who are at least 50 pounds overweight. The program consists of replacement meals. The first 12 weeks on Opifast, you are only allowed to eat meal replacement foods for all of your meals. The final 6 weeks of the program, you will slowly transition to regular, healthy food. After the 18 weeks, you will be monitored to make sure the weight stays off your body. Optifast has been suggested for patients who are preparing for gastric bypass surgery. Meals


Optifast is an 800-calorie per day diet, and it requires you to eat or drink a minimum of 5 replacement meals per day. The Optifast meal replacement program consists of shakes, powders, soups, protein drinks, vitamins and bars. Optifast replacement meals will help decrease your cholesterol and lower your high blood pressure and high blood sugar levels. Optifast will also put you on an exercise program that will help you burn calories and get the weight off your body.
