Aviation Tech Center
Among technical and vocational programs offered at Wichita Area Technical College is a special program at the Aviation Tech Center, formerly operated by Cowley College. This program teaches hydraulics, avionics, fuel systems and other essentials for airframe and power-plant licensed mechanics. The community college is the managing partner of Sedgwick County's National Center for Aviation Training.

Butler Community College
About 30 miles east of Wichita in El Dorado, Kansas, Butler Community College offers an associate's degree program, preparing students to transfer to a four-year college or go directly into an occupation. Academic programs and majors include music, nursing, education, accounting and biology, as well as engineering and mathematics. Founded in 1927, Butler has more than 8,000 students and dormitory space for 345 students.

Heritage College
The privately run Heritage College operates campuses in seven U.S. cities, including Wichita. Heritage offers programs to train X-ray medical technicians, pharmacy technicians, personal trainers and practitioners of therapeutic massage.Heritage awards diplomas in therapeutic massage therapy and X-ray medical technology. The pharmacy technician school and personal trainer program also are fully accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.
