Thyroid Patient Organizations Information

Thyroid patients often need support

When first prescribed medication for a thyroid problem, patients may not fully understand the implications of their diagnosis or the treatment. Discovering the chronic nature of the condition can be particularly discouraging. Networking with other thyroid patients can be beneficial.

Thyroid Organizations

Thyroid patients typically require more information then an office visit usually provides. They can find the information they need from several different organizations, including the American Thyroid Association, the Thyroid Foundation of America and the Thyroid Federation International.

Thyroid Support

Those with thyroid problems may need more than information; they need the support of others with similar conditions. There are organizations they can join that offer such support, including the Light of Life Foundation and Graves' Disease Foundation, and The Thyroid Federation International helps start support groups under its direction.

Wider Support

Sometimes the thyroid is not the only problem. In that case, patients can find wider support from such organizations as the Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, American Autoimmune Related Disease Association and the Arthritis Foundation.
