Top Technology Colleges

The top three universities for technology are located in the U.S.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the top three universities in the world for engineering and information technology are in the United States. Two of those schools--the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University--are in California. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was recognized as the top-rated technology-based university in the world.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Although the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is rated as the best engineering and technology school in the world, it is certainly not the biggest. MIT's annual enrollment for undergraduate and graduate programs is approximately 10,000. MIT does offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in areas other than engineering and technology. However, almost half of the school's students major in engineering and technology each year. MIT boasts an impressive alumni list, with 26 graduates having won the Nobel Prize and 31 graduates having been former NASA astronauts.
