Radiologic technologists perform medical imaging diagnostic examinations.
Degrees in radiologic technology prepare students to take the national examination that is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and to enter the field as a certified radiologic technologist. There are many schools that offer these programs, which generally last for two years.

Columbus Technical College has a degree program in radiologic technology that provides students with the opportunity to experience all of the diagnostic imaging applications, which includes fluoroscopy, routine radiography, computed tomography, radiation therapy, ultrasound and nuclear medicine. NHTI
NHTI has a degree program in radiologic technology where students earn their Associate in Science degree upon graduation. This program requires a completion time of 24 months, which includes both classroom study time and intensive clinical experiences. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the national certification exam to enter the field as a registered technologist. Students take courses that include radiographic positioning, radiologic nursing procedures, anatomy and physiology and radiographic equipment operation and maintenance.

Capital Community College
Capital Community College has a radiologic technology degree program where students will earn an Associate in Science degree at graduation. This program covers the academic competencies that are set forth by the JRCERT, which prepares students for certification as well as employment upon graduation from the program. This program takes four semesters to complete. This includes the time for the clinical experiences that take place over the winter break of both years. Students will take courses such as anatomy and physiology, introduction to literature, radiation physics and protection, general psychology and introduction to software applications.
