4. Obtain voluntary certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS). This step is not required in California, but it has the power of heightening your earnings potential and also your employability simply because it sets you apart from other applicants for the same job.


5. Draft a professional resume that highlights your education in the field of sonography and also the emphasis on the specialty you have chosen. If you have related medical experience, emphasize it so that potential employers realize that they are adding a well-rounded team member to their staff.
