There are several options to consider in the use of holistic skin cancer treatments. Most remedies are used in conjunction with chemotherapy, but this is not always necessary, especially if the skin cancer is caught early. Holistic treatments treat the whole person, not the symptoms. Holistic skin cancer treatments include Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, homeopathy and herbal medicine, to list a few.
Chinese
Gua Sha (pronounced gwa shaw) therapy is reported to be 2,000 years old. Gua Sha is a holistic skin cancer treatment consisting of a vigorous massage stimulating the lymphatic system and blood flow through the skin. Acupuncture may also be used to help with stimulating the flow of body fluids and energy to detoxify the body.
Herbal
A recent find in holistic skin cancer treatments is BEC5/Curaderm, an extract from a plant called Devil's Apple found in Australia. Smaller amounts are found in eggplants. This is a topical cream reported to wipe out basal and squamous cell carcinoma (non-melanoma skin cancers).
Homeopathic
Hyland's Silicea and Bufo Rana work on the connective tissue and skin, stimulating overall healing. These treatments may be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments.
Ayurveda
Ayurveda herbs used to treat skin cancer include the Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia), Samira Panaga Rasa, Kaishore Gugglu and Gandhak Rasayan; these herbs are blood purifiers. Neem oil is another common treatment and can be taken as capsules as well as used topically on the cancer.
Native American
Black salve or bloodroot salve is one common holistic skin cancer treatment employed by the Native Americans. The salve is applied directly to the cancer over a period of 2 to 4 weeks.
