Several colleges in Illinois offer radiology programs.
Many medical schools in Illinois offer radiology programs for physicians who wish to complete a four-year radiology residency and become board-certified. Radiologists are not to be confused with radiologic or radiography technicians, a career that requires approximately two years of school beyond high school. Radiologists may specialize in many fields of medical imaging, such as cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and interventional radiology, and radiation oncology.
