Radiology School Scholarships

Radiology School Scholarships

Radiology school scholarships are open to students who are studying in the fields of radiologic technology, radiation therapy, ultrasound technology, nuclear medicine technology and cardiovascular technology. Through scholarships, students receive monetary awards to pursue their undergraduate or graduate degree. These awards may be based on a student's merit, financial needs, ethnicity, geographic location or field of study.

Radiologic Technology

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists offers four types of radiologic technology scholarships. The first is the Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarship, which awards $2,500 annually to five students entering the field. Next, the Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship offers five minority students enrolled in an undergraduate program an award of up to $4,000 annually. The Professional Advancement Scholarship Program assists students in completing either their undergraduate or graduate degree by awarding 10 scholarships of $1,500 annually. Lastly, the Howard S. Stern Scholarship recognizes academically motivated students by awarding up to $1,000 for those enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

Radiation Therapy

The Varian Student Scholarship Program also offered by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists provides funding of $5,000 for students interested in an undergraduate degree in radiation therapy. The Elekta Radiation Therapy Educators Scholarship Program annually awards $5,000 to four radiation therapist educators who are looking to pursue their bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in order to advance their career and become either a program director or clinical coordinator.

Ultrasound Technology

The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography offers the SDMS Foundation Scholarship Program that provides a $2,500 scholarship to students who are enrolled in an undergraduate ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP). The scholarship program is also open to ultrasound professionals who have been employed in the field for 2 years, and are currently enrolled in a program to receive either their bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree.

Nuclear Medicine Technology

The Mickey Williams Scholarship offered by the Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologists (SNM) awards $2,500 to minority students pursuing either an associates or bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology. Applicants must be of African American, Native American, Hispanic American, Asian American or Pacific Islander decent.

Cardiovascular Technology
