The Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport was named as one of the best colleges in America by the U.S. News Media Group's "America's Best Colleges" for 2010. The college has been affiliated with Pennsylvania State University since 1989 after being a technical college and a community college. The college offers Bachelor's and Associate's degrees as well as professional certificates in a variety of fields, including architecture, automotive, metallurgy, plumbing, welding, electrical, computer-aided design and horticulture.

Pittsburgh Technical Institute
The Pittsburgh Technical Institute was the first technical college in Western Pennsylvania accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The college has two locations, one in Oakdale and another in Cranberry Township. PTI offers associate degrees and professional certificates in fields such as computer programming, information technology, medical assisting, computer-aided design and drafting (with specializations in both mechanical and architectural), business administration and HVAC. Free brush-up courses are available for graduates.

Berks Technical Institute
Berks Technical Institute in Wyomissing boasts an eight-acre campus that trains students for contemporary technical careers. Programs at Berks include drafting, paralegal studies, graphic design, dental assisting, massage therapy and network engineering. The career services department helps students to hone their resume writing skills, write cover letters and conduct practice interviews. Berks Technical Institute also has a relationship with the business community in the area through its Student Career Services Center, helping it to place new graduates in positions that fit best. The school feeds resumes directly to local businesses through this program.

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology
The Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is for Pennsylvania residents only and is the only two-year technology college owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Students at Thaddeus Stevens can study vocations such as electrical technology, automotive, architecture, carpentry, metal fabrication and welding, machine tooling, business administration and plumbing. The college consists of 18 buildings on 32.5 acres of land and includes a dining hall, five residence halls and a lab and classroom building. Thaddeus Stevens boasted a job placement rate of 98% for the 2007-2008 school year.
