Tech Colleges In Columbia Sc

Columbia is surrounded by lakes and parks.


Columbia is South Carolina's capitol and largest city. It is located inland from Charleston on the Congaree River, roughly in the geographic center of the state. Columbia was one of the first planned communities in the U.S., and older areas of the city still enjoy the wide streets laid out by the founders. There are a number of educational institutions in Columbia, as well as branch campuses of schools from other areas.


Midlands Technical College


Midlands Technical College is the most important vocational school in the capitol region, operating a main campus in Columbia and satellite campuses within the city and elsewhere. Midlands offers over 100 diploma, certificate and associate degree programs, of which 70 percent are career programs. Programs include various construction trades, computer-related certifications and health-care professions. As of 2011, total student student enrollment averaged 15,000 annually.


ECPI College of Technology


ECPI College of Technology administers a number of campuses in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The Columbia campus offers bachelor's degrees in network security and database programming, as well as an associate degree or diploma in network security. The school also offers associate degree and diploma programs in medical administration and medical assisting.


Centura College


Centura College is a regional chain with online courses and nine campuses in Virginia and South Carolina, as well as one in Florida. The Columbia campus offers certification programs in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), medical assisting, business accounting, medical billing and computer networking.


Remington College


Remington College is a regional school, with most of its campuses located across the South. The Columbia campus opened in 2009 as the 19th in the chain. It offers diploma programs in cosmetology, medical billing, medical assisting and medical laboratory assisting.


ITT Technical Institute


ITT Technical Institute is a national chain with more than 100 campuses nationwide. The Columbia campus administers degree programs in four schools: information technology, electronics technology, drafting and design and criminal justice. There are a total of nine associate or bachelor's degrees available from the four schools making up the campus.
