Western Career College is another vocational California school, this one located just 12 miles outside of Sacramento in the large suburban area of Citrus Heights. The private institution offers associate degree and certificate programs in the healthcare field to nearly 800 students each year. Western Career College offers a diagnostic medical sonography/technician training program that teaches students operate the most advanced and up-to-date medical imaging equipment. The 18-month program incorporates laboratory training, classroom lectures and hands-on experience working with obstetrical, abdominal and gynecological imaging technologies.

Yuba College
Yuba College is a 2-year public school located just outside of Sacramento in the neighboring city of Marysville, California. The college offers a radiologic technology degree program for students who are interested in studying x-ray technology and entering the fields of medical imaging, radiography, computerized tomography or diagnostic special procedures. The 2-year program combines classroom lectures with a required internship experience at a participating clinical location. Graduates of the program receive an associate’s degree as well as a certificate of completion and are eligible to apply for certification in the field.
