Make A Nasa Scrapbook

A National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) scrapbook will be an ideal memory book for a trip to the Kennedy Space Center, Space Camp, Space Center Houston or one of the student activity centers across the country. NASA-associated scrapbooking supplies may be hard to find. You can adapt supplies to your scrapbook or make new one-of-a-kind items.

Instructions

1. Look for a scrapbook that has a decorated cover with a space theme. If none are available pick one that has an opening in the front where you can add a NASA photo or a mission patch. The patch can be from historical flights or a current STS mission with a picture of one of the shuttles stitched into the surface.

2. Purchase scrapbook paper that will fit the size of the album you will use. Look for a NASA scrapbook paper kit or space-themed background papers. Check the book "600 Space Photos" from the Hubble Space Telescope to use for layout background paper.

3. Use stickers, die-cuts or hand cut and pieced paper symbols for the NASA letters and insignia. You can make a paper-pieced NASA rocket or the Space Shuttle. Trace line drawings onto colored scrapbooking paper. Cut out and glue layers of paper segments to make a pieced copy of NASA equipment or an STS mission patch.

4. Select photos from your trip to a NASA complex, Solar System Ambassador Event or Space Camp. Choose paper that has like colors or an appropriate background.

5. Position photos that you have taken on a trip to a NASA event onto the scrapbook pages. Adhere photos to paper mats. Adhere mats to the layouts. Add titles, stickers and die-cuts to the layouts.

6. Journal about the trip, camp or your NASA-related memories on pieces of scrapbook paper that are cut into star, rocket, planet or satellite shapes.

7. Attach pre-made envelopes or pockets to a layout to store NASA museum or event tickets and other small items from your trip.

8. Mount any astronaut autographs on mats made from star- or planet-themed scrapbook paper. Adhere to a scrapbook layout. Add astronaut images to the layout.
