Barcodes are data-bearing symbols that are printed on various products. They are used to facilitate product inventory and tracking in order to save time, labor and money. Instructions
1. Open your Internet browser to access websites that provide online barcode-generating software. "Barcoding.com," "barcodesinc.com," and "barcode-generator.org" are some of the websites that can provide you an online barcode-generating software program for free.
2. View the program interface and type the barcode data in the space provided. Click on the type of barcode that you wish to create, and click on the "Generate Barcode" button to create the barcode image.
3. Right-click on the generated barcode image and select "Save Image As" in the drop-down menu. Choose the file location where you wish to place the saved image and click on the "Save" button. Most barcode-generating software has a simple and straightforward interface that requires no additional configuration. All a user has to do is enter the data and choose the type of barcode in order to generate a barcode image.
4. Open the saved barcode image, right-click on it, and click "Print" in the drop-down menu to print your barcode. Connect a hand-held barcode scanner to your computer, hold it 6 inches away from the printed barcode and press the scanner button to read the barcode.
