How to remove cartridge from moen single handle faucet

remove cartridge from moen single handle faucet?

I have allready been to moens website and all i could think of doing. The faucet is only a few years oldl. I just need instructions on remove the cartridge. The faucet is out of the sink.It didnt really do me any good to take it out.I took the horseshoe out like the man from lowes told me to do.He then said it shoud come right out.I tried to get the clear plastic thing that the horseshoe holds in.Would someone tell me which cartridge it takes if possible.Single handle.I looked at cartridges at menards but i didnt want to guess which one. Thanks for any help. This is the kitchen sink so it is missed. Nobody pointed you to one of these when you were at Lowes or Menards? And the Moen site didn't show this? Go to Google and type in Moen cartridge puller and look around. Even vids on Youtube. Hi, Its a moen 1225B After you buy it follow the directions in or on the package. It comes with a tool that helps get the old one out. But basically you grab the stem with a plyers and pull it out. The tool allows you to twist the cartridge and loosen it so it comes out easier. Mike NJ Moen, like delta has a lifetime warranty and if you call them they will send you a new cartridge for free and the kit will include the puller. The puller tool supplied with new cartridges is plastic and easily broken so if the cartridge does not come out easily you have to work it. With the tool installed apply pressure in one direction and then the other. Repeat and gradually increase the force as you work it back and forth. If the tool breaks you can get creative and use a Crescent wrench or pliers over the cartridges shaft to engage the notches then use another wrench to turn it. A few months ago I had one that had gone unused for a long time and mineral deposits cemented it in place and it was extremely difficult to remove. Just be patient and it should eventually break free.
