Panasonic is a large Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronics including LCD and plasma TV sets, personal audio devices and stereo speakers. As with other manufacturers, some Panasonic TVs develop serious technical failings, including the power shutting off and displays blinking lights, overheating problems and defective fluorescent bulbs on LCD screens. Serious problems should only be tackled by experienced TV repairmen or by contacting Panasonic Customer Support if your set is still under warranty. Other issues can be resolved with some basic adjustments and checks.

Picture Interference
1. Make sure the coaxial cable at the back of your Panasonic TV is securely fixed if you are experiencing distorted sound or images.
2. Examine the coaxial cable for any signs of wear and tear. Damage to the wire or the metal fitting on this cable can result in image interference. Purchase a new lead from an electrical store if there is visible damage to the cable.
3. Move away any battery-operated or electrical appliances, such as electrical motors or vacuum cleaners, from your Panasonic TV. These devices can cause sound and image interference to your TV set.
Audio Problems
4. Press the "Mute" button on your Panasonic remote control if you can't hear sound on your TV. You may have pressed this in error, causing the sound to be muted.
5. Access menu options on any external devices connected to your Panasonic TV, making sure the volume is sufficiently turned up. Devices connected to your Panasonic TV have their own volume settings, which can dampen overall sound output if not turned up high.
6. Check if your set is connected to the Internet if you can hear a high whistling sound. Panasonic projection sets produce this noise when connecting to the Internet, as stated in the Panasonic Multimedia Projection TV manual.
HDMI Problems
7. Check for loose connections if your Panasonic set displays distorted or unstable images when connected via HDMI cables to an external device, such as a games console or Blu-ray player.
8. Turn off your Panasonic TV and the device and then restore power to both. Replace the HDMI cable if problems persist.
9. Change the color correction option from Off to On via the Picture Settings options if pictures are stable but are showing unnatural colors (for instance, where colors that should be red appear as blue) when connected to an external device.
