Academic Performance Of Radiologic Technology Students

Aspiring radiology technologists must first complete a specialized academic program.

Students applying to a radiologic technology program must meet certain academic performance requirements. Those already enrolled in a program must fulfill the program's academic standards to graduate.

Admission Requirements

Most radiologic technology programs require students to have a certain level of past academic performance. This is usually based on performance in prerequisite courses and overall grade-point average. For example, Louisiana State University requires a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher in prerequisite courses for admission. Each radiologic technology program varies; therefore it is advisable to consult with the applicable admissions department.

Graduation Requirements

For students to be eligible for graduation, they must fulfill specific academic benchmarks. These usually include completing specific courses related to radiologic technology, as well as some general education requirements. Students also have to meet the program's grade-point average requirement. For example, the University of Montana requires a grade-point average of at least 2.75 to graduate.

Academic Integrity

If a student is caught cheating she will more than likely be punished. Academic dishonesty may be in the form of copying another student's written work without permission, according to University of Montana. Assignments submitted without properly citing references is considered plagiarism and prohibited.
