Prevent Calcium Deposits

Prevent Calcium Deposits

Calcium deposits can plague your body and your joints. They can cause pain and inflammation and end up being quite a nuisance. They can also restrict movement and even end up causing permanent damage, but there are things you can do to prevent them in your everyday life. You can do a variety of things to help alleviate your already-existing calcium deposits, that will prevent your body from forming other deposits.

Instructions

1. Increase your intake of Vitamin K and magnesium. You can get these vitamins and minerals through green peas, spinach, beans, seeds, fish, lettuce and carrots, among other vegetables. A lack of these vitamins could produce calcium deposits.

2. Watch your amount of Vitamin D intake. You should be taking in about 200 International Units (IU) of Vitamin D every day. Too much Vitamin D can result in calcium deposits.

3. Ice the area of your calcium deposits. Putting ice on the joints by your deposits will help to heal the inflammation, swelling and pain.

4. Soak your joints in warm water. Often this can be done with a bathtub full of warm water for about a half hour, and will help to minimize your inflammation and pain, and keep the calcium deposits from increasing in size.

5. Monitor your calcium intake every day. Intake for adult men and women should be about 1,000 milligrams per day. This amount will not add to your existing calcium deposits and less than this is unhealthy in a diet.
