According to The Miami Pursuit, a Christian movement, Miami, Florida ranks as the nation's second most unchurched city. Campus Crusade for Christ reports that South Florida has 60 colleges and a diverse community, providing outreach challenges. "Free Gospel Sundays"
The Adrienne Arscht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County holds "Free Gospel Sundays." The events feature many prominent gospel artists and local choirs. Performers have included CeCe Winans and Vickie Winans. According to the Center's website, patrons may reserve "First Access Passes" approximately four weeks before a performance. The free passes afford the patrons "first come-first serve" seating.
South Florida Gospel Music Awards
Since 2004, the Miami area has hosted the South Florida Gospel Music Awards, originally the Palm Beach Gospel Music Awards. This event draws nationally known and local artists, radio personalities, gospel music executives, public officials and corporate sponsors. More than an awards program, the gathering offers workshops and seminars and a "VIP Brunch," according to the website. Though the multi-day event takes place in Palm Beach, choirs and radio talent from Miami participate.
Campus Crusade for Christ Fall Retreat
Campus Crusade for Christ serves as a ministry for college students. It claims a presence on 12 Miami-area college campuses, including the University of Miami, Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University. Each autumn, the Miami Metro chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ conducts a retreat consisting of worship, Christian teaching and fellowship opportunities.
International Christian Cycling Club
The International Christian Cycling Club provides Christian fellowship.
The International Christian Cycling Club makes bike trials, roads and races forums for Christian fellowship and encouragement. The Miami chapter, as with others, holds races and rides throughout the year. Events take place under United States Cycling (USAC) rules and its point systems. The club's website lists competitions and other events.
