Radiology technicians and radiologists are in high demand. Consequently, these positions are on the rise, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. To fulfill this impressive increase in job opportunities, radiology technician schools are attracting and targeting students across the United States. Limits on the amount of radiology technician grants available have caused competition for the grants to become fierce.
Varian Radiation Therapy Student Scholarship
The ASRT Education and Research Foundation sponsors the Varian Radiation Therapy Student Scholarship and is open to students attending an entry-level educational program in radiation and possessing a high GPA. Applicants must fill out a grant application on ARST's official website by February of each calendar year.

SDMS Foundation Scholarship
The SDMS, or Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, provides a limited amount of grants and scholarships each academic year to members of the SDMS who have a demonstrated need. The SDMS Foundation Sonography Certification Examination Grant Program provides up to two $250 grants a year to sonography students and sonographers who successfully complete a sonography certification examination after being approved for a grant. The grant can be used for examination fees.
The SDMS Foundation Scholarship Program also provides a $2,500 scholarship to a promising sonography student who has been accepted or is enrolled in a sonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP). International students can apply, but the scholarship student must attend an American institution.

Radiological Society of North America Education Scholar Grant
RSNA, or the Radiological Society of North America, provides scholarships annually of up to $75,000 for two years of study. The Radiological Society of North America Education Scholar grant is awarded to students furthering their education in radiology. This grant is also available to students who are completing a basic or advanced radiology-training program. An additional requirement includes a membership in the RSNA.
