Valencia's diagnostic medical sonography program is accredited and graduates are eligible to take the certification exam. This program also requires you to complete a set of general education courses and anatomy and physiology. Other classes include fundamental, clinical, abdominal, and OB/GYN sonography, acoustical physics and instrumentation, and sectional anatomy. Upon completion of this program, you earn an associate in science degree in diagnostic medical sonography.

American Institute - College of Health Professions
The American Institute is located in Celebration, a suburb of Orlando near Disney World. American Institute offers a diploma and associate degree program in diagnostic medical sonography. This is a unique program that offers classes online. Instruction also takes place in a lab and in a real-life clinical setting. This program allows you to choose between a general focus, which includes instruction in abdominal and OB/GYN practices, and a cardiac focus, which includes the heart. Both programs teach vascular ultrasound, which is a common use of ultrasound technology as well. Completion of these accredited programs will allow students to take the certification exam.
