A majority of sonography and radiology jobs are in hospitals.
Radiologists and sonographers work in similar capacities, using various forms of imaging technology to diagnose and treat diseases and other ailments. Students can train for entry-level positions in either of these health science professions at two-year community colleges. While required courses vary between the two radiologic technology subspecialties, both radiology and sonography curricula combine extensive study in anatomy, physiology and other sciences, as well as prerequisite courses in medical terminology and algebra.
