Find A Female Inmate

Using the Internet to locate female inmates can make the task easy.

Finding a female inmate involves the same process of finding any other inmate in the U.S. prison system. You will need to know basic information about the inmate like a name and state where crime was committed in order to find a female inmate. The information is obtainable by using a couple of search methods. Possibly, the inmate is serving her sentence in a local prison and visiting the prison can lead to finding information on the prison inmate. Information on an inmate's sentence and crime is available to the public.

Instructions

1. Find the full name of the female and the name of the state where the crime was committed.

2. Go to Google and type in "(Name of the State) Department of Corrections." For example, if you were searching for an inmate in Florida then you would type "Florida Department of Corrections." Click on the link to go to the corrections website.

3. Look at the top of the homepage for Offender Search. Click on Offender search. Options for type of searches are "Search all Corrections Offender Databases," "Supervised Population Inmate Search," "Inmate Population Search," "Inmate Release Information" and "Inmate Escape Information."

4. Click on "Search all Corrections Offender Databases." The link will open to a form page that will have search hints for finding an inmate. Examples of search hints are last name, first name, race, sex, dc number, hair color, eye color, height range, weight range, age range, identifiers and dc criminal history (offense category).

5. Type in the last name and first name of the inmate. Choose the race for the inmate and choose female for the sex of the inmate. You will probably not have all the information to complete every search hint on the form when attempting to locate a female inmate. Having a complete name and knowing the state where the crime was committed are important pieces of information for returning reliable results.

6. Highlight "all" from the Criminal History category for women inmates. The DC Criminal History category will have a list of crimes to chose from like assault and battery, drug crime, crimes against the elderly and disabled escape, forgery, fraud, kidnapping, manslaughter, other crime, murder, other violent crime, racketeering, property crime, robbery, sex crime, theft, weapon offense and all. Choosing "all" is the right option when not knowing detail information about an inmate's criminal history.

7. Click the option to show only offenders who have photos. Some Department of Corrections websites will not have inmates pictures available, just information on their criminal history.

8. Click the submit button to receive the results. The form will return any offender records that match your criteria.
