Remove Breast Implants

Remove Breast Implants

It used to be that only women who needed to augment their physical attributes to make a living got breast implants, but today it includes the woman next door who simply wants to feel more attractive. But for many the story doesn't end there, because they're unhappy with the results, or after years of problems they wish to have their implants removed or replaced. Here's the scoop on remove your implants.

Instructions

1. Take your time making the decision to remove breast implants. It will alter many aspects of your life to have them removed just like it did when you decided to get breast implants in the first place. Allow yourself the time needed to fully investigate removing your implants to ensure you make the best decision possible.

2. Decide if you want to have them completely removed altogether or replaced with new implants. Some women who are unhappy with their current implants will choose to "downsize" to smaller implants, while others will prefer to remove everything.

3. Consider the location of the implants before you remove them. Complete removal may depend on where your current implants are placed, either above or below the muscle. Women who have implants that are subglandular, or above the muscle, just under the natural breast tissue, generally have more deformity after complete removal.

4. Visit with several doctors and don't be afraid to get a second, third or even seventh opinion. Taking out breast implants is a very personal decision, but plastic surgeons are much like artists because they "create" beauty. One doctor may say you'll be unhappy with the results while another may encourage removal.

5. Figure out your finances or financing options for the surgery. Getting implants was likely a major expense that wasn't covered under insurance, and likewise, removing them is quite costly as well. Doctor's fees normally range from $1000 to $4000.

6. Be prepared for emotional changes as well as physical. Although removal of implants is your choice, if you're not replacing them with new implants and elect to go back to pre-implant status, you'll undoubtedly not only look different but feel different.
