What Are The Dangers Of Breast Enhancements

Breast enhancement can carry several different types of risk. These risks can be minor, only affecting the way the breasts look. Such is the case when implants shift around and look uneven and abnormal. The risks can also be major, requiring immediate removal or replacement. Implants don't directly cause breast cancer, but they can interfere with its detection by negatively affecting the accuracy of mammograms.

Surgical Risk: Anesthesia

There is no such thing as a minor surgery, because any time a patient goes under anesthesia, there is a danger of life-threatening complications.

Surgical Risk: Bleeding

The surgery required for breast enhancement carries a risk of excess bleeding, known as hemorrhage.

Hard Breasts

After enhancement, the breasts can become hard from the formation of scar tissue.

Limited Feeling in the Nipples

The nipples can lose all, or some, of their feeling after breast enhancement.

Breaking and Leaking

Breast implants, whether silicone or saline, can break and leak out into the body.
