Write a Resume for a Radiology Job
Radiology offers part-time and full-time job opportunities in hospitals, outpatient care centers, laboratories, physician clinics and imaging centers. Radiology technicians take x-rays or specialize in operating computerized tomography (CT) scanners or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). You must have formal training in radiology such as a certificate, associate degree or bachelor's degree to apply for a radiology job.
Instructions
1. Follow a basic resume template found on most word processor programs or online. Pick a format that best presents your background and skills.
2. Summarize your work history chronologically or beginning with the most relevant first. If you are applying for a job at a hospital, emphasize your hospital experience by listing it first. When applying for a specialty radiology position, highlight your previous CT scanning, angiography or MRI experience. Include management experience when applying for a supervisor, chief or director position.
3. List educational background. When applying for a position with specific educational requirements (like a 2-year associate degree, 4-year bachelor's degree or master's degree) clearly show that you meet those requirements on the resume.
4. Specify if you are a registered radiographer and what training you have completed relating to this license. Renewal of registration usually requires the completion of 24 hours of continuing education every other year.
5. Outline additional training you've received when applying for a specialty radiology job. Include any 1-year certificate programs that you've completed.
