Install An Aquasource Kitchen Faucet

Kitchen faucet technology has made great improvements since the old two-handled faucet in your grandmother's kitchen sink. Some AquaSource kitchen faucets, for example, pull out to become sprayers. Others have motion sensors that turn on the faucet when you need it, making for a hands-free operation.

Instructions

1. Empty the cabinet under the sink for easier access to the faucet from below. Turn the water off at the supply line at the shut-off valve. If your home is older and has the original plumbing, there may be no shut-off valve under the sink; you must shut off the water to the whole house.

2. Turn on both the cold water and hot water to empty the faucet and the water lines of trapped water.

3. Locate the water supply lines where they are attached to the old faucet under the sink. Remove the lines by removing the nut on the underside of the sink with a pair of pliers or a wrench. Have a bucket ready to catch any water that drains out of the old faucet.

4. Remove the supply line with pliers or a wrench at the bottom where the lines come into the kitchen under the sink. Install the shut-off valves.

5. Lift the old faucet up from the top sink. Clean the area where the old faucet made contact with the sink and where the new AquaSource faucet will be seated.

6. Use Teflon tape to wrap the threads on the AquaSource faucet and on the supply lines that come into the kitchen. Wrap the lines in the same direction as when reattaching the water supply lines that are normally in a clockwise direction.

7. Attach the AquaSource faucet to the sink with the nuts that hold the faucet to the sink, and then reattach the water supply lines to the faucet. Turn the water back on at the shut-off valves or at water main. Check for any leaks.

Tips Warnings

After installation, remove the aerator from the new faucet and flush the line.
