Force A 720p Stream On Ps3

The PlayStation 3 is capable of playing back video content in resolutions of 1080p, 1080i, 720p and 420p. If you're using a high quality cable to connect your console to your TV, the console will automatically begin displaying content in 1080p. If your television set only supports a 720p resolution, however, you'll want to adjust to that setting in order to make sure that everything is displaying the way it's supposed to.

Instructions

1. Select Settings from the PS3 menu.

2. Open the Display Settings category.

3. Select Video Output Settings.

4. Choose HDMI if your PS3 is connected to your TV via an HDMI cable. Choose Component / D-Terminal if your PS3 is connected to your TV via a component video cable.

5. Select 720p from the list of available resolutions so that your PlayStation 3 displays content in the 720p resolution.
